A New York Yankees fan got into trouble during Wednesday’s game against the Los Angeles Angels by running onto the field. He dodged security but was caught and tackled. This happened during a close 1-0 Yankees win, showing how some fans can get too excited.
Fan’s wild dash disrupts the Yankees' game
At 6:38 p.m. ET in the seventh inning, a fan wearing a No. 99 Yankees jersey, like Aaron Judge’s, ran onto the outfield at Angel Stadium. He held his phone, maybe recording, and moved fast to avoid stadium workers and security guards. He almost bumped into Yankees player Cody Bellinger, which worried everyone watching.
Then, he jumped over a wall into the seats near first base to escape. But security caught him, grabbed his jersey, and pulled him to the ground. Two police officers put handcuffs on him. It’s not clear if he was arrested or just kicked out of the stadium. News from news-daily.com says he might be banned from Angel Stadium forever. The game stopped for a bit, and fans had mixed feelings about it.

The Yankees won 1-0, finishing a three-game sweep against the Angels. The only run came at 4:05 p.m. ET in the first inning when Anthony Volpe hit a fly ball, letting Paul Goldschmidt score. Pitcher Clarke Schmidt did great, allowing four hits in six innings and striking out four. The bullpen, with Ian Hamilton and Mark Leiter Jr., kept the Angels from scoring, and Leiter got his second save. The Angels have been struggling, scoring only five runs in their last five games, all losses. This win was the Yankees’ fifth in a row, making their record 35-20.
They’ll play the Los Angeles Dodgers next in a weekend series at Chavez Ravine. Despite the fan’s crazy run, the team stayed focused. Some fans on X, like @BrendanKutyNJ, talked about the incident, saying it was wild but risky. This shows how excited fans can get, but it can cause problems.
