Jeremy Zoll began his baseball journey as a scout and trainer, building expertise in player evaluation and team operational strategy. His career, for the most part, was with the Los Angeles Dodgers before he transitioned to the Minnesota Twins organization. Minnesota hired him for his ability to identify new talent and develop efficient player development methods.

The Twins hired Zoll as their Director of Minor League Operations in 2017, which provided him the chance to transform the organization’s entire player development system. He used analytics to establish new player development methods, which formed the foundation for his scouting system, which brought about the modern baseball player development program.

By 2019, Zoll had advanced to the position of Assistant General Manager, which granted him authority over team composition, player contracts, and strategic development. The league's respect for his capacity to develop players while constructing competitive teams established him as a leading figure in the baseball community.

The Twins organization experienced a leadership crisis after Derek Falvey dedicated his efforts to evaluating baseball operations while managing the team's business needs until his mutual departure from the position in January 2026. Zoll, who held the position of executive vice president and general manager at that time, became the most suitable candidate to take control of baseball operations. The owner, Tom Pohlad, assumed temporary control of business operations while Zoll led the team through its competitive activities.

Zoll’s ascent is not just about timing, but it reflects years of preparation. He has directed the Twins' draft approaches, international player acquisitions, and player development achievements, which enable the team to stay competitive despite its financial limitations.
