According to the reputed media outlet New York Post, the Missouri-based pitcher closed the door to his free agency after signing a year deal with the Toronto Blue Jays for $15.5 million for the upcoming season.

Former Texas Rangers alum Max Scherzer ended his free agency stint with the Toronto Blue Jays. The 40-year-old talented pitcher agreed on a $15.5 million deal with the Blue Jays recently. The three-time Cy Young Award recipient has been the talk of the Baseball fraternity ever since he announced his association with the free agency.
After struggling with one of the worst seasons of his baseball career, Scherzer is finally back and his fans cannot wait to see the pitching star in action. Back in 2024, he struggled with his herniated disc surgery and failed to make a debut till the middle of June. He was also sidelined due to a nerve disorder which further led to the problem of his right shoulder fatigue.
Therefore after being signed by the Toronto Blue Jays for the next season, Max Scherzer can prove his worth in the team. Recently, the Blue Jays made headlines with their indecision on the Dominican star Vladimir Guerrero Jr.’s contract extension.

The newly minted Toronto Blue Jays star Max Scherzer has a very unique secret to his great baseball career. Back in 2016, Scherzer appeared for an interview and reflected on his Diamondbacks days and even spoke about the secret behind his great pitching skills. He said-
"Year-round throwing works for me," Scherzer says. "That’s what I did when I was 8 years old, and my arm never hurt."
He further explained-
"Whenever I shut down my arm, whenever I actually stop throwing, that's when my arm hurts the most," Scherzer says. "Everything just doesn't feel good, so I literally throw year-round."
While talking about his stint with the Diamondbacks in 2006, Scherzer said-
"My shoulder just hurt too much to get through it. Specifically, the biceps tendon. It just took forever, all the way through spring training. By the time the season started, it would finally feel good."
Max Scherzer was introduced to Major League Baseball with the Arizona Diamondbacks in 2006 and after a three-year stint with the team he was traded to the Detroit Tigers in 2009. With his sheer hard work, perseverance and dedication Max Scherzer has been a significant part of reputed MLB teams including the Los Angeles Dodgers, Texas Rangers, Washington Nationals, and New York Mets.
