Being in the league for a good long time, Alex Bregman has developed friendships with many players, including his new-teammate Trevor Story. Interestingly, Bregman and Story have been friends way before the third baseman signed with the Boston Red Sox. Story recently gave fans a glimpse into his less-famous friendship with Bregman.
Trevor Story revealed being long-time friends with Alex Bregman
On Wednesday, the Boston Red Sox's star Trevor Story was interviewed by MLB Network. During one of the segments of his interview, Story talked about being friends with third baseman Alex Bregman. Story started off his statement, talking about Bregman's Red Sox hiring, and said:
"I didn't live in his house but I stayed there for about a week back in my free agency. He was kind of recruiting me to come to Houston and now we've flipped the script and I was recruiting him a little bit."Moving forward, Trevor Story revealed how he has been close friends with Alex Bregman for "the last few years". Story praised Bregman for his consistent suggestions in improving the shortstop's game. Sharing his reaction to sharing the same team as his good friend Bregman, Story added:
"We've been close over the last few years, just talking ball. As everyone knows he's a bit of a baseball rat, he's come to me with a lot of different stuff on how I can be better, you know vice versa. It's just a good friendship and I'm happy that he's here."Before joining the Boston Red Sox, Alex Bregman played for the Houston Astros, where he created a loyal fanbase for himself. That's why his decision to leave Houston came as a shock to the fans. However, it wasn't the case with Twins star Carlos Correa, who revealed
being not surprised at all with Bregman's decision.
Even though his free agency has ended, there are still some difficulties that Alex Bregman had to deal with, especially drama around his position. There hasn't been any surety if Bregman will be third baseman. However, the ex-Houston star decided to go with a
"will play anywhere" approach, to deal with the third base drama.
