Fans have a lot to say about his enviable stats and seem divided over the Orioles’ catcher’s divine rhythm, which was a bit off the rails in the later half of 2024. Adley Rutschman’s last season was injury-infested and forced him to be on the injury list for some time.

Fans share mixed emotions on Adley Rutschman’s comeback in Spring Training

Adley Rutschman’s Spring Training performance is legendary material as he managed to touch a .444 AVG and 1.156 OPS. MLB acknowledged the same on its Twitter account mentioning how his performance is garnering praise from teammates such as Jordan Westburg who had kind words to say about him.




Meanwhile, fans had a field day commenting on Rutschman’s impressive run as they dissected the Orioles’ catcher’s Spring Training show.

Adley Rutschman had a mixed sort of 2024 season where he had to take some time off during its later part owing to injuries. The player was not completely written off, as he found solace in some of the supporters too. A few of the clapbacks that supporters delivered read like this:

Adley Rutschman made 638 plate appearances in the 2024 season in which his Total Bases (TB) and Extra base hits (XBH) were 223 and 41 respectively. His .250/.318/.391 scoreline placed him among some of the decent performers of the season. However, things didn’t go smoothly in the latter half which led experts and fans to discuss what caused a slump in his performance.




Camden Chat, a Baltimore Orioles commentary & analysis site, while describing his deteriorating performance insinuated injury as a reason. The page mentions that things started going south from July onwards when he got a dismal record of .194/.278/.286 with only four home runs. His second half of the 2024 season also included time off from the field due to injury.


If the Spring Training performance is to be believed, the real Rutschman is back to his form and is all determined to justify being on the All-Star list.
