Francisco Lindor and his wife Katia Lindor had their third baby, a son, and even as Lindor was on a brief period of break. He was available for the New York Mets’ series opener against the Miami Marlins, even though Lindor wasn’t in the starting lineup. Lindor announced his son’s arrival through Instagram.

On Monday night, Francisco Lindor made an entry into the New York Mets’ series opener against the Miami Marlins, despite not being in the starting lineup. Francisco Lindor became a dad, yet again, now to a baby boy, who they have named Koa.
The New York Mets’ manager Carlos Mendoza congratulated the couple and felt that Lindor should spend time with his family and take time off the game. He said:
“First of all, congrats to Katia and Francisco, I talked to them yesterday when we got the news. I knew right away he wanted to be here.”
However, Francisco Lindor wasn’t on paternity leave, He left the decision to Carloz Mendoza to decide. Mendoza said:
"[Lindor] said, ‘Take your time, I’ll give you a call later tonight, Which he did, and he said, ‘Not sure what kind of night we want to have today, but I’ll be there tomorrow.’ So, I’m expecting him to be here…He got home [to Orlando, from Houston] in the morning [on Sunday]; the baby was born in the afternoon. Perfect timing on the off-day."
Francisco Lindor managed to return to New York Mets just in time
The timing was too perfect, because Francisco Lindor managed to land, when he reached his home in a car, and on Sunday after, when the New York Mets’ had a scheduled off day, Katia gave birth to Koa.
Francisco Lindor managed to return to the match before the first pitch. Carlos Mendoza further praised Lindor and said that he is a leader and a special player. He said:
“I mean, it’s nothing new to us, this is a guy that wants to show and wants to perform and help the team. And even when his wife is having a new baby, he’s still thinking about the team. That’s who he is. He’s a leader -- special person, special guy, special player.”
