White Sox alum Drew Thorpe might miss the beginning of the 2025 Spring training

According to a recent update by the Chicago White Sox, prominent pitcher Drew Thorpe is all set to start the upcoming season by being on the injured players list. Back in 2024, Thorpe was roped in by the White Sox for Dylan Cease, who is currently playing for the San Diego Padres.

The pitcher has suffered with the elbow issue for a long time which has even affected his offseason games. Reportedly in the last season, Drew Thorpe went on to strike out 25 batters in 44.1 innings in only 9 games in the 2024 season.

Reportedly, back in September 2024, Drew Thorpe underwent surgery to get rid of the bone spur from the elbow. The pitcher’s baseball career was obstructed and later he even went for a cortisone shot in January 2025. Former White Sox star Gavin Sheets goes ahead with San Diego Padres

Former White Sox designated hitter Gavin Sheets ended his free agency recently. A multi-talented baseball athlete, Sheets is not only a hitter but also a right fielder and a first baseman.

He was non-tendered by the White Sox due to inconsistent performance as a power hitter. According to the speculations around Gavin Sheets, the prominent major league team the Baltimore Orioles had a keen interest in including the athlete on their roster. The official page of White Sox on X even posted-

“The Baltimore Orioles were reportedly interested in Former #WhiteSox RF Gavin Sheets during the winter, talks have diminished since then, per sources.”

The 28-year-old hitter made his major league debut with the Chicago White Sox back in 2021 and since then he has stayed back with them. For the upcoming season the Maryland-based baseball star, Gavin Sheets will be seen representing the San Diego Padres.
