Teams sometimes make choices that don't seem so smart after the result. That's what happened with the Atlanta Braves and Freddie Freeman. He was one of their all-time greats. But they allowed him to walk, and now he's playing even better with the Los Angeles Dodgers. Not only is he good, he's a future Hall of Famer. The Braves may be winning games, but they lost a legend too.

Freddie Freeman grows into Hall of Fame legend after Braves exit

Freddie Freeman was already awesome when he was with the Braves. He hit.295, reached base often (.384), and hit with power (.509 slugging). His total OPS (on-base plus slugging) was.893, which is very powerful. He even won the MVP Award in 2020.
But since joining the Dodgers, he got even better. His average is now at .317. He's reaching base at a .401 clip and hitting with more power as well, at a .530 slugging. That puts him at a .931 OPS. Few players can make that claim after leaving a team. But Freddie can.

Braves farewell to Freddie Freeman could become a historic misstep

Atlanta recognized Freddie Freeman as great. Perhaps they didn't realize how exceptional he was. He was the soul of the team, a leader, and a beloved fan favorite. He contributed to the Braves' victories in many games and even gave them a World Series victory in 2021.
Now he has worn the historic blue and white of the Dodgers, year in and year out consistently demonstrating his phenomenal ability. With the prospects of reaching 3,000 hits looming large, he is as good as in the venerable halls of the Hall of Fame. Although the Braves did not say goodbye to merely a good player, they have said goodbye to the greatest athlete to ever wear their jersey since the iconic Chipper Jones, creating a huge void in their history. Also Read: "He’s Just So Intense" – Freddie Freeman Reveals The One Pitcher Who Scared Him Most
