The Los Angeles Dodgers recently shifted their newly minted Japanese pitching star, Roki Sasaki, to the injured list. After making headlines with his inconsistent performance on the field and slow start during the 2025 MLB season, an injury was the last nail to obstruct his debut year with the Dodgers. According to the latest update on the Los Angeles Dodgers’ roster changes, 32-year-old pitching star J.P. Feyereisen would be replacing Sasaki for his 15-day injury leave.
Dodgers’ star Roki Sasaki listed on 15-day injured list
Dodgers right-handed pitcher Roki Sasaki’s debut year has not been as great as he was expecting. Recently, he was placed on the 15-day injured list after experiencing right shoulder impingement. The Japanese phenomenon has been the hotbed of discussion even before he went on to join hands with the Los Angeles Dodgers under the shelter of Shohei Ohtani and Yoshinobu Yamamoto but also made headlines with his on-and-off performance.
The recent setback can be considered a blessing in disguise, as Sasaki can easily get time to rest as well as make a great comeback. The official handle of MLB posted on X.
“The Dodgers have placed Roki Sasaki on the injured list due to right shoulder impingement.”The 23-year-old Japanese pitching phenom joined hands with the Los Angeles Dodgers for $6.5 million after his four-year stint with the Chiba Lotte Marines of the Nippon Professional Baseball League. During the 2025 MLB season, he was even pulled from his debut game at Dodger Stadium due to the lack of command issues, and now Sasaki has been shifted to the injured list for 15 days.
According to the injury status of the Los Angeles Dodgers, Roki Sasaki would be joining Tyler Glasnow and Blake Snell, who are already missing in action due to their health concerns during the 2025 MLB season. Even the Dodgers’ most beloved pitcher and designated hitter, Shohei Ohtani, has been a hotbed of discussion with respect to his return.
