The Los Angeles Dodgers’ first baseman, Freddie Freeman, has been removed from Monday’s lineup against the Atlanta Braves, citing concerns over his injury. The Dodgers’ manager, Dave Roberts, confirmed that the injury was caused by a ‘mishap.’ Earlier, too, Freddie Freeman got injured and missed the games.

Freddie Freeman was supposed to be playing against the Atlanta Braves, his previous team, however, Freeman’s name is not on the lineup. The Los Angeles Dodgers’ manager Dave Roberts said that a mishap led to aggravating his surgically repaired right ankle. Manager Dave Roberts explained that the injury happened when Freeman was stepping into the shower. The Dodgers have now placed Enrique Hernández in the Monday lineup at first base. Roberts said:"For the most part, he's always kicking and screaming."

However, this is not the first time Freddie Freeman will be missing out on a game. Freeman had earlier suffered an ankle injury in September 2024, forcing him to miss the final three games of the regular series.At the start of the season, Freddie Freeman was supposed to get more rest, despite him choosing to not miss out on any game. Freeman also couldn’t make it to Tokyo, citing pain in his left ribs. In December, Freeman had to undergo a surgery on the right ankle.
The surgery included debridement, leading to the removal of loose bodies. Freddie Freeman’s recovery has been going on for some time now, and if all goes well, he will soon be back on the field. It could be taken as a positive sign, considering the injury isn’t too concerning.
