Brent Rooker agrees to five year 60 million extension with the Oakland Athletics

In a major development, Brent Rooker and the Oakland Athletics have come to terms on a five-year, $60 million contract extension as of January 7, 2025, according to sources who spoke to ESPN's Jeff Passan late Monday night. The agreement was finalized on January 8, 2025, and features a $10 million signing bonus, covering the seasons from 2025 to 2029, along with a $22 million vesting option for 2030 that could rise to $30 million depending on performance incentives.
