Ever since his MLB debut, fans have set high expectations for Jackson Holliday. As the regular season comes near, the anticipation for a better performance rises among fans. Not just the fans, but former Philadelphia Phillies star Trevor Plouffe recently set his expectations straight from Holliday.
Trevor Plouffe shares his expectations from Jackson Holliday
In Sunday's episode of "Talkin' Baseball," Trevor Plouffe talked about the approaching regular season and what expectations he has for Jackson Holliday. Plouffe expressed wanting Plouffe to have a great season, but expectations aren't something that is over the moon. Talking about his expectations in detail, Plouffe said:
"Jackson Holliday, for all his trials and tribulations, still had a positive WAR (wins above replacement) last year. I'm excited to see (what he does in the new season). I think everyone around baseball is excited to see what this year brings for him."Moving forward in his statement, Trevor Plouffe explained that he obviously doesn't expect Jackson Holliday to perform like Gunnar Henderson. According to the ex-Phillies star, that is "not really fair" expectations. But he still expects nothing less than great things from the Baltimore Orioles star. Concluding his statement, Plouffe said:

"You know, another year of struggles, then you're like, 'Okay, what have we got here?' I don't anticipate that. I also don't anticipate him just going off and being Gunnar Henderson, that's not really fair. I still think there's going to be some bumps in the road with him. He's 21 years old, give the kid some time."Earlier this week, Jackson Holliday talked about the lessons he learned from the last season and lessons he would want to put to work heading to the 2025 regular season. Revealing his lessons during an interview with MLB Network, Holliday said:
"Yeah, I mean obviously it didn't go the way that I would have hoped, or I guess the team, we would have liked to make a little bit longer run in the playoffs. But it was a good learning experience. Obviously we play a game of failure and to be able to go up there and fail and go back down and come back up and have a little bit more success. It was a good experience."With the regular season almost around the corner, let's see if Jackson Holliday impresses fans with his performance. What's your take on this?
