Rani Rampal wins 'World Games Athlete of the Year' award

Captain of India's women's hockey team, Rani Rampal, has won the prestigious 'World Games Athlete of the Year' award for 2019. After polling by sports fans world-wide throughout January, Rani was announced the winner on Thursday with 1,99,477 votes. She is the first ever hockey player to win the prestigious award.
