Simone Biles and Jonathan Owens celebrated Valentine’s Day 2022 by doing something different; they spent all day together at the Winter Games in Milan before going back to their hotel where Jonathan prepared a special surprise that put a smile on Simone’s face and gave us a glimpse into how much support and love these two athletes have for one another on and off the field.

She posted a video on social media showing that the hotel room was decorated with heart-shaped balloons, rose petals, and an elaborate meal prepared by Jonathan prior to entering the hotel. Biles posted a short video on Instagram Stories showing shiny red and rose-gold heart balloons across the room. The bed had “Be My Valentine” written in red rose petals, while dinner included a heart-shaped pizza placed on a table covered with flowers. She joked in the caption, “Phone did not eat first,” after already taking a bite of the meal.

Earlier that day, the couple enjoyed a charcuterie board before watching the Olympic figure skating finals. They also matched outfits, wearing Olympic bomber jackets. Biles styled hers with white jeans, cream heels, a Gucci bag, and a diamond goat necklace, while Owens kept a relaxed look with sweatpants and sneakers.

Both athletes understand the Olympic dream. Biles has competed in Rio 2016, Tokyo 2020, and Paris 2024, winning 11 Olympic medals and becoming the most decorated American gymnast in history. Owens supported her closely during the Paris Games. He told the Chicago Bears’ blog in 2024, “It was emotional even when she made trials. I cried for her, knowing all the work that they put in.”

When Biles won gold in Paris, Owens proudly wrote online, “Witnessing history every time you step on the mat… Congrats baby on becoming the most decorated American gymnast in Olympic history.” His message showed how strongly he believes in her success.
