NASCAR legend Greg Biffle 911 audio released as witnesses share scary moments from the plane crash that killed his family

Greg Biffle, a beloved NASCAR driver and one of the sport’s most respected racers, died in a fatal plane crash on December 18, 2025, along with his wife Cristina Biffle and their two children, Emma and Ryder. The small business jet, a Cessna 550, was trying to return to Statesville Regional Airport in North Carolina shortly after takeoff when it crashed and burst into flames. Witnesses called 911, describing a huge explosion and frantic scenes at the airport.

Federal investigators from the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) are still working to find out what caused the crash. All seven people on board died, including friends and another family. The sad news has left the NASCAR world and fans around the world in shock and deep sadness.
