The YouTuber-turned-boxer posted a sarcastic tweet on his X account, suggesting that the people who are funding the promotion could end up losing money. His comments immediately sparked debate among fight fans because Coker is widely respected for discovering and promoting several MMA legends during his long career in combat sports.

Jake Paul casts doubt on Scott Coker’s MMA comeback

Scott Coker has spent decades in combat sports promotion. He first launched Strikeforce as a kickboxing organization in 1985 before turning it into a full MMA company in 2006. During its rise, Strikeforce helped introduce future stars like Ronda Rousey, who later became one of the biggest names in women’s MMA. Former Strikeforce fighter Gina Carano also recently appeared at MVP MMA 1, linking Coker’s past influence with today’s growing MMA scene.

Despite his experience, Jake Paul does not seem convinced the new promotion will become profitable. In his online reaction, Paul mocked the project and implied that investors may regret putting money into it. He jokingly suggested he was trying to “save” them from making a bad business decision. The comments quickly spread online and added more attention to Coker’s announcement.

Coker has not yet revealed the official name of the promotion, event schedule, or roster of fighters. Still, he believes there is room for another major MMA company worldwide. In the official statement, Coker explained that the new organization will focus on fair competition, athlete respect, and authentic storytelling.
