The opening day at the Masters Tournament turned wild in a way no one expected. Big names like Matt Fitzpatrick, Xander Schauffele, and Bryson DeChambeau were all in one group at Augusta National Golf Club on Thursday. Fans followed them closely, hoping for great shots. But instead, things got messy very fast. All three players missed shots early in their rounds, and the crowd ended up right in the middle of the action. Golf balls flew into places they should not go, a beer cup, a fan’s arm, and even a bag. It was surprising, a little funny, and also a bit scary for people standing nearby. At the par-four third hole, Matt Fitzpatrick hit a drive that went way off to the right. The ball struck a fan’s plastic beer cup. The man later told the Daily Mail he did not even see it coming. Some people nearby said the ball actually landed inside the cup before bouncing out. Either way, the fan was left holding nothing, with his beer spilled on the ground. Fitzpatrick walked over and said, “It is a bit wet.” Then he added, “I’m sorry. They’re cheap beers here.” The moment got a few laughs, but it showed how close things were getting between players and fans.

Things did not settle down after that. A few holes later, at the par-three sixth, Bryson DeChambeau also missed his target. His tee shot went left and hit a man on the forearm.
The hit looked painful, but thankfully the fan was okay. DeChambeau quickly walked over, apologized, and shook hands with him. He also gave the fan a golf ball as a small gesture. The moment was handled calmly, but it added to the strange start for the group. Fans at Augusta are used to seeing close shots, but getting hit or losing a drink is not something they expect. This group kept bringing the action a little too close for comfort.

Then came another moment that left people stunned. Xander Schauffele hit a shot that went off line and ended up inside a fan’s merchandise bag. Photos showed officials stepping in to help find and remove the ball. Schauffele then returned the bag to the fan after the situation was sorted. He was allowed a free drop and continued his round without penalty.Despite all the chaos, Schauffele still managed to stay focused. He finished the front nine at one-under-par, showing control even as strange things kept happening around him. The opening round had great golf, but these unexpected moments became the talking point of the day.
