The rapper’s health had already raised concerns before he entered the ring. Earlier this year, Ray J was hospitalized with severe pneumonia and heart problems. Reports suggested he may even require a pacemaker in the future. Despite warnings about his condition, the singer still chose to compete in the celebrity MMA event. Before the fight, he explained that his motivation came from wanting to prove himself for his children and continue pushing forward despite his medical struggles.

Ray J’s health concerns grow after knockout defeat in Las Vegas

The fight started positively for Ray J as he appeared aggressive in the opening moments and briefly pressured Supa Hot Fire against the ropes. However, the momentum quickly changed when Supa Hot Fire landed a heavy right hook that knocked the rapper unconscious during the co-main event.

According to reports by TMZ, Ray J remained under medical observation for two days after the incident while doctors continued evaluating his condition. Medical staff were reportedly concerned about signs linked to concussion symptoms as well as issues involving a slower heartbeat. The situation became even more serious because of the rapper’s earlier hospitalization this year.

Back in January, Ray J had shared details about his poor health on social media. He explained that doctors had warned him about the condition of his heart and advised him to focus on recovery and healthier habits. The rapper also mentioned that he remained hopeful about improving his condition. He was staying disciplined and avoiding unhealthy routines.

This is not the first major health scare for the singer. In 2021, he also battled a serious case of pneumonia. It required emergency treatment. Despite these repeated setbacks, Ray J decided to take part in the MMA event. This was because he wanted to inspire his children and show resilience during difficult times.

Ray J shares two children, daughter Melody Love and son Epik Ray, with his former wife Princess Love. He previously dated Kim Kardashian in the early 2000s before the pair eventually separated on friendly terms.
