Jake Paul announces successful jaw surgery following fight against Anthony Joshua
Social media celebrity-turned-fighter Jake Paul revealed that he'd successfully undergone surgery to repair a broken jaw suffered in his recent loss to former heavyweight world champion Anthony Joshua. Paul was knocked out in Miami last week in the headline bout of the Cardinals one of the biggest tests of his professional boxing fights so far.
After the fight, Paul announced that he had several broken bones in his jaw and needed medical assistance right away, and days later, the 27-year-old released a statement thanking doctors, family members, and supporters for sticking with him through what he initially called a 'painful but enlightening experience' and confirmed the surgery had gone as expected.
The right hand that sealed the deal came in round six, sending Paul crashing to the ground. A few moments later, the referee stopped the fight, giving Joshua a knock-out win. After the fight, hospitals ran some tests on Paul, and they found that the punch had indeed broken it in two, resulting in an urgent hospital visit and surgery to follow.
Paul is still looking at the silver lining, finding the bright side, even though this happened. He acknowledged the challenge of stepping into the ring with an elite heavyweight and admitted the loss was humbling, but insisted it would not mark the end of his boxing ambitions. There's no timetable set for his return, but Paul teased that he plans to return to the ring, healthy, stronger than ever, and ready to accept the truth of high-level pro boxing.

How the Anthony Joshua fight led to Jake Paul’s injury
The stark difference in experience and pedigree between Jake Paul and Anthony Joshua has made the potential bout of interest all over the world. Much of the fight was dominated by Joshua exerting his size, power, and technical superiority over the former unified heavyweight champion. Paul started tough and tried to make it a fight on foot, moving and countering, but there was only ever one level between them, and that gap grew wider and swifter as the rounds rolled on.Jake Paul’s recovery process and outlook after surgery
Paul went on to share that the surgeons used titanium plates to help stabilize his jaw and that his recovery process will be closely monitored from this point forward, too. Quite simply, he is only going to be able to receive liquid sustenance for the next month; full recovery is going to take him a few months. Paul deemed the operation a success and said he was starting rehab right away.Paul is still looking at the silver lining, finding the bright side, even though this happened.
