Inside Venus Williams and Andrea Preti’s Florida wedding, with Serena Williams playing a special role for her sister

Venus Williams, the legendary American tennis star, has officially married Italian actor and producer Andrea Preti. The couple celebrated their wedding with a five-day series of events in Florida. The marriage came after months of planning across two countries. Venus Williams and Andrea Preti were first linked in 2024 and got engaged on January 31, 2025. Because of legal paperwork between the United States and Italy, the couple chose to celebrate in more than one place, turning their wedding into a week-long memory.

Before the Florida celebrations, Venus Williams and Andrea Preti had a wedding ceremony earlier this year in Ischia, Italy. Ischia is where Andrea Preti was raised.

The ceremony took place there because the couple dreamed of marrying in his hometown. Venus Williams explained to Vogue that paperwork for international marriages can take many months.

“We had this dream to do our wedding in Italy,” Venus Williams told Vogue. “But we didn’t have enough time to do the paperwork. So we decided to have a second wedding.”

That decision led to the Florida celebration, which allowed both families to be part of the moment. The main events were held in Palm Beach, Florida, where Venus Williams grew up with her sister, Serena Williams.

Friends and relatives arrived early to enjoy a full week together. The Florida wedding week started on Monday with a yacht party. The event was a gift from Serena Williams.

It included food, music, and close family members. Venus Williams said there were about 10 to 12 loved ones on board, and the group spent time talking, laughing, and dancing.



“They always say weddings go so fast, and they do,” Venus Williams said. “We were just enjoying each other.”

The days that followed included bridal showers, themed dinners, pool parties, and a sports day. The sports day featured dodgeball and pickleball, showing Venus Williams’ competitive side.

She shared that she did not want to lead any team. She just wanted to play alongside her husband. The final step came with an early morning courthouse wedding in Palm Beach at 6:45 a.m. The timing gave the couple privacy.

Andrea Preti said the moment was emotional and special in a quiet way. After that, they held another ceremony and continued celebrating. Throughout the week, Venus Williams wore several custom bridal outfits that mixed elegance with fun.
