Despite falling short in her quest for a third straight victory at the tournament, her actions both on and off the course left a lasting impact. Hannah Green, an Australian golfer, made a significant contribution to fire recovery efforts in Los Angeles following the JM Eagle LA Championship. Before the tournament began, Green made a heartfelt pledge to support the fire recovery efforts in the LA area. For every birdie she made, she promised to donate $500, and for each eagle, $1,000. By the end of the tournament, Green’s tally of 19 birdies and one eagle amounted to a total of $10,500.
Green's decision to donate was inspired by a conversation she had with former LPGA player Mo Martin, who shared how the fires had affected her family. Green was moved by the stories and wanted to help in a meaningful way. "I didn’t really know how many birdies I would make, but it’s been a great week for opportunities,” Green said. “I’m grateful to have contributed the amount I did.”Though Green didn’t secure a third consecutive win, finishing tied for ninth with a 16-under score after a closing round of 67, her performance was still impressive. Her contribution to the fire relief effort combined with her consistent play on the course made her presence at the tournament even more significant.Green wasn’t the only one offering support for fire recovery. Tournament sponsors Walter and Shirley Wang have donated $1.5 million to aid the recovery efforts and a generous additional $5 million commitment.
