Floyd Mayweather's daughter, Yaya Mayweather, set social media buzzing after a pointed message appeared on X, drawing attention to her relationship with rapper NBA YoungBoy and their five-year-old son. The post surfaced days after she shared moments from her son’s birthday.
While Yaya marked her son Kentrell Jr.’s milestone with an intimate home celebration, her recent words suggested frustration behind the scenes. Later, the contrast between the family-centered birthday moments and the public callout sparked questions among fans.
Yaya Mayweather seemingly calls out NBA YoungBoy over son’s birthday support
In her latest post on X, Yaya Mayweather appeared to accuse NBA YoungBoy of failing to contribute financially to their son’s fifth birthday. She also described him as an absent father while alleging misplaced priorities.
“Still haven’t given me money for my son’s birthday party,” she wrote. “You know who paid for my son’s birthday party? MY DAD!!!!!!”
Yaya shares her son with NBA YoungBoy, whose real name is Kentrell Gaulden. Their child was born in 2021. The rapper, now 26, has 10 confirmed children with eight different women. He married Jazlyn Mychelle in 2023.
The post also followed a year of major developments for NBA YoungBoy, who was released from prison in March after nearly a year behind bars. He later released his eighth studio album MASA and completed his first headlining tour by November. Reportedly, his wife is currently pregnant with his 13th child.
Yaya Mayweather keeps celebration intimate
Despite the controversy, Yaya kept her son’s birthday low-key. She shared clips showing Kentrell Jr. baking his own birthday cake at home, a request she gladly honored. The footage captured a late-night kitchen moment with eggs cracking, batter mixing, and family members gathering to sing “Happy Birthday.”
The cake was simple, rectangular, and topped with white and light red frosting. Kentrell Jr. blew out a single candle while wearing a Spider-Man T-shirt.
Floyd Mayweather also shared multiple Instagram Stories celebrating his grandson, featuring moments from the gym, a skating outing, and quiet family time. Kentrell Jr.’s grandmother, Melissa Brim, posted a tribute calling him “the biggest and best blessing to our family” and praising the joy he has brought since birth.
