Donald Trump, who recently made her professional debut on the LPGA Tour, confirmed she underwent surgery on her left wrist. The announcement came through a detailed message posted to social media, where Kai addressed both the medical challenge and her focus on returning to the game fully healthy.
Kai is preparing for a transition to college golf with the University of Miami while continuing to gain experience against elite competition. Playing through pain had become part of her recent months. Surgery now marks a pause in her golf routine; however, she looks ahead to recovery and long-term stability in her swing.

Kai Trump explained the procedure in her own words, offering clarity on the injury and the path ahead. “Today, I underwent left wrist surgery to address injuries to the stabilizing tissues of my ECU tendon and damage to my triangular fibrocartilage complex,” she wrote. “The surgery was successfully performed at the Lehigh Valley Orthopedic Institute by Dr. Thomas Graham, Chief of Jefferson Orthopedics.”

Kai continued, “I look forward to my rehab ahead in the coming months. I am excited for the ability to play golf pain free!” The surgery addresses damage that had affected her ability to compete comfortably, even as she continued to test herself at the highest levels of amateur and professional golf.
Kai recently became the youngest player in the field at The ANNIKA, her first LPGA Tour event. She shot 13 over par during the tournament.

Despite the physical setback, Kai’s outlook remains forward-facing. She is set to join the University of Miami golf program as part of the 2026 signing class, which is a major milestone in her development. The experience gained from early exposure to professional events adds to that foundation.
Before her LPGA debut, Kai shared insight into advice she received from her grandfather, Donald Trump. “My grandpa pretty much told me to go out there and have fun,” she said. “To me, he’s a normal grandpa. He’s not coming this weekend. He’s running the world right now, so a little busy.”
Following the event, Kai spent time working privately with Masters champion Rory McIlroy. She later shared images from the session with a simple caption. “Best way to start the year.”
