A fun, wild event is coming this summer. On August 2, 2025, furry friends will surf real ocean waves. This contest is in California at Linda Mar Beach in Pacifica. Many dogs will ride waves on surfboards. Judges will look at how long each dog stays up, how big the waves are, and how confident the dogs seem. This story gives you all the details, when it happens, who is involved, and what to watch out for.

The World Dog Surfing Championships will be held on Saturday, August 2, 2025, at Linda Mar Beach (also called Pacifica State Beach). The event starts at 9 a.m. and runs until about 1:30 p.m. It is free to watch, and anyone can come see the dogs in action.
Organizers say everyone from top pros to happy amateurs can enter. Dogs from different places will surf alone, with other dogs, and even with humans on shared boards. The prize is the famous Golden Surfie Award for the best wave rider.

Still, the event is on the schedule, and dog fans are hopeful. The World Dog Surfing Championships promise a fun summer morning with dogs surfing waves, dressed up pups, and a chance to help rescue animals. Be there on August 2, bring a blanket or chair, and cheer on the fearless four‑legged surfers.
