Jake Paul faces boos at Anthony Joshua weigh-in
Jake Paul arrived flanked by his brother
Logan Paul, attempting to energize the crowd after the hostile reception. The scale confirmed a clear physical gap. Paul weighed in at 216.6 pounds, while Joshua came in at 243.4, underlining the former champion’s size advantage. The difference drew a reaction from fans and added fuel to an already charged setting. According to Mirror, Paul met with massive boos at the event.
When asked what he had to lose, Paul leaned into his underdog narrative. “The pressure is on him. I'm fighting free. I've already won, this is a lose-lose situation for him, I've got him in the corner, right where I want him.”
He framed the bout as something larger than the result. “I'm here to show the world what's possible, show kids what's possible with self-belief.”
Later, Paul offered a prediction. He made a 6-7 gesture before shouting into the microphone, “I'm f------ him up Ariel! I'm f------ him up!” The outburst drew another wave of reaction from the crowd and pushed security closer to the stage.
Anthony Joshua stays composed during final weigh-in face-off
Joshua’s response came without noise. “I’ll just outclass this kid. I’m just gonna outclass him. I’m a serious fighter. That’s just the difference. I’m a serious, serious fighter.” As the face-off continued, he added a blunt warning. “You’re gonna get f----- up. It is what it is.”
During a later exchange, Joshua downplayed the tension while standing firm. “There’s a mutual respect there, we’re just two fighters getting in the ring, but ultimately I have to be victorious.” When pressed on what was said during the stare down, he replied, “Nothing. Don’t touch me. Nothing else. Nothing crazy.”
Paul later returned to taunt his opponent, mocking Joshua’s legs and repeating his belief that fear was visible. Joshua closed the moment by bringing forward Eddie Hearn and declaring, “This man right here, is who started Jake’s pro career. He helped Jake have his pro debut. And he’s brought me in to end Jake Paul’s boxing career.”
The next exchange will take place inside the ring.
