One of the significant cricket tournaments, the Asia Cup, showcases teams from the continent. The Asian Cricket Council has announced a rotation of hosts from 2025 to 2031. Notably, India will host the T20 version of the Asia Cup in 2025, marking its first hosting role in 34 years as revealed by the Asia Cricket Council (ACC) in their Invitation To Tender (ITT).

They have established a base price of USD 170 million for media rights from 2024 to 2031. Following this, Bangladesh will host the 2027 edition in ODI format, coinciding with the ODI World Cup in South Africa. The upcoming tournaments will maintain formats aligned with major ICC events, with Pakistan hosting the 2029 Asia Cup and Sri Lanka in 2031. Each edition will feature 13 matches, including at least two clashes between India and Pakistan.

India will host the Asia Cup in 2025 marking a significant return for the country in this prestigious tournament. The tournament will feature six teams, including the five full members of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC)—Afghanistan, Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka—alongside the United Arab Emirates, who qualified by winning the 2024 ACC Men's Premier Cup.


Asia Cup tournament format


The Asia Cup will follow a familiar structure, with teams divided into two groups of three. The top two from each group will advance to the Super Four stage, competing in a round-robin format. The best two teams from this stage will then face each other in the final to determine the champion. This setup promises an exciting and competitive tournament.
