NEW DELHI: The Hockey India League (HIL) 2024/25 is set to be the most lucrative edition in the history of the league, with a prize money distribution of over Rs 10 crores.

This year's edition features an exciting mix of top-tier men's and women's hockey teams, promising fierce competition and substantial rewards for both teams and individual players.
In the Men's HIL, the winning team will receive Rs 3 crore, while the runners-up and third-placed teams will be awarded Rs 2 crore and Rs 1 crore, respectively.
Similarly, in the Women's HIL, the champions will take home Rs 1.5 crore, the runners-up will receive Rs 1 crore, and the third-placed team will be awarded Rs 50 lakh.
In addition to the team prizes, the tournament's title sponsor, Hero MotoCorp, has announced individual performance-based awards. The 'Player of the Match' in both men's and women's games will receive Rs 50,000 each.
Furthermore, the 'Player of the Tournament' in the Men's and Women's HIL will be awarded Rs 20 lakh each.
The best goalkeeper, upcoming player, and top scorer in the Men's HIL will receive Rs 10 lakh each, while their counterparts in the Women's HIL will be awarded Rs 5 lakh each.
The 2024-25 edition features eight men's teams and four women's teams, offering fast-paced, thrilling games through newly revamped formats.
The men's league commenced on December 28, 2024, in Rourkela, with the grand finale scheduled for February 2025. The inaugural women's league will begin on January 12, 2025, in Ranchi, with the final set for January 26, 2025.
To expand the reach of the league, select matches from both tournaments will be held at alternate venues across the country, ensuring that hockey fans nationwide can enjoy the electrifying action.
