NEW DELHI: The Colorado Avalanche staged a remarkable comeback, rallying from three goals down to beat the Dallas Stars 6-3 on Saturday night. After falling behind 3-0, the Avalanche scored six unanswered goals to secure the victory.
Tyler Seguin opened the scoring for the Stars, beating Colorado goaltender Alexandar Georgiev from the right circle at 10:33 of the first period.
Joe Pavelski extended the lead with a power-play goal at 14:21, making it 2-0. Seguin added his second of the night early in the second period when he capitalized on Mason Marchment's rebound at 2:12.
Trailing 3-0, the Avalanche began their comeback in the second period. Miles Wood put Colorado on the board at 13:27, scoring his third goal of the season. Ryan Johansen then deflected Cale Makar's shot on the power play to make it 3-2 at 17:09.
In the third period, the Avalanche completed the comeback with a stunning surge. Valeri Nichushkin tied the game at 4:19, and Mikko Rantanen and Andrew Cogliano scored 11 seconds apart late in the period to give Colorado a 5-3 lead. Ross Colton sealed the victory with an empty-net goal at 19:30.
The win showcased the Avalanche's offensive firepower and resilience, turning a three-goal deficit into a convincing victory over the Stars.
