JAIPUR: The second edition of the Justice Anshuman Singh Memorial Golf Cup tournament will take place on October 19 at the Rambagh Golf Club in Jaipur. This one-day tournament on Saturday will bring together over 160 top ranked national golfers, including international players, who will compete in the 18-hole stable ford (3/4 H’Cap) (maximum H’Cap 24) format. Renowned golfer Lakshya Dev Mudgil will be the star attraction of the event.
“After the grand success of the inaugural edition in 2022, we are eager to host the event again,” said Narendra Singh while addressing a press conference here on Friday. Other members of the tournament committee, Arun Pratap Singh, Jaideep Singh Bika, Nidhishwar Singh Bika and Shailendra Singh were also present on the occasion.
Son of late Justice Anshuman Singh, Arun Pratap Singh said that this tournament is being organised with the aim of providing financial aid to the caddies, especially the older and retired ones who have dedicated their lives to the sport. Financial assistance worth Rs 8 lakhs will be provided. The tournament also seeks to support the talented young children of caddies who show promise in pursuing golf as a career. This year, as part of the initiative, sports shoes and T-shirts will be distributed to the caddies, while financial aid will be extended to those in need, ensuring their continued well-being.
To add to the competition, two international golfers -- Tom Soluri and Michael Soluri from the United States -- will be participating in the tournament. The duo was present as the tournament committee members unveiled the glittering trophy on Friday.
The committee took the opportunity to recognise the efforts of a young golfer, Eti Chaudhary, daughter of a caddie, who has been funded by the committee to pursue golf. The 18-year-old Eti was honoured with a donation of Rs 50,000 during the event.
The winners of the tournament will be felicitated by the committee members in a prize distribution ceremony after the competition on Saturday evening.
