SINGAPORE, Sept 5: India's top stars - Jeev Milkha Singh, Shiv Kapur and Jyoti Randhawa - have all been given very high-profile pairings for the first two rounds of the $3 million Barclay's Singapore Open golf starting at the Serapong Golf Course on Thursday.
A total of 11 Indians figure in the Singapore Open, the richest full-field Asian Tour event.
Jeev gets pride of place as he has been paired with Ernie Els for the first two rounds. The third player in the group will be local star, Mardan Mamat, who won the Singapore Masters, a joint-sanctioned event on Asian and European Tour, this year.
Kapur has been paired with 2005 US Open champion, Michael Campbell and Prayad Marksaeng, who divides his time between Asian and Japan Tours. Randhawa plays with Lee Westwood and Thai Prom Meesawat. Rahil Gangjee plays with Simon Hurd, who shone at the Aamby Valley Asian Masters in India earlier this year, and John Wither. Amandeep Johl plays with Lin Keng Chi and Adam Groom while Gaurav Ghei plays with Michael Wright and Lu Wen Teh.
SSP Chowrasia is paired with Jason Dawes and Danny Chia and Digvijay Singh is with Ewan Porter and Chen Yuan-Chi. Harmeet Kahlon is paired with Tony Carolan and Lin Hsie Hsiang, Gurbaaz Mann is with Jason King and Kenji Saito and Uttam Singh Mundy plays with James Stewart and a qualifier.
