PANCHKULA: Gaganjeet Bhullar blasted a blistering seven-under 65 to equal the course record and grab the opening day lead in the PGTI Players Championship golf tournament on Thursday.
Bhullar reeled off eight birdies, as against the lone bogey on the sixth hole, to equal Karanjit Singh Sandhu���s course record.
R Murthy of Belgaum fired 66 for the second spot, while Delhi���s Vinod Kumar was one stroke behind in third place.

Bhullar began with a birdie hat-trick and picked up a shot each on the 15th and 16th to make the turn at five-under.
The Asian Tour regular began his second nine by sinking a birdie on the first before dropping a shot on the sixth where he three-putted from 20 feet for bogey.
He wrapped up in style as he birdied the seventh and eighth holes. "I hit the iron shots well. Putting will hold the key on this course."
