Two Goans among probables for U-17 Women’s World Cup
Panaji: Goa’s Daisy Lisa Crasto and Karen Estrocio have been shortlisted to attend the India camp for the U-17 Women’s World Cup 2021.
The All India Football Federation (AIFF) has shortlisted 35 probables for the camp which will be held in Goa.
“The camp will be held from July 20 to August 31 in Goa and the players have to undergo Covid-19 test from a laboratory authorised by ICMR before the start of the camp,” the Goa Football Association (GFA) said in statement on Saturday.
According to AIFF sources, however, the camp is unlikely to start on July 20 and it will be some time before the players get on the field.
GFA president Churchill Alemao said the Goan players should give their best during the camp and ensure that they get the final nod.
“You have to give 100 percent to finish on top,” said Alemao.
Most of the probables are from Jharkhand (8) and Manipur (7). The two Goans are among the six strikers who have been summoned for the camp.
Goalkeepers: Tanu, Anshika, Adrija Sarkhel, Manju Ganjhu, Anjali Barke, Anjali Munda
