Lewis Hamilton celebrated his 41st birthday on Wednesday in the lap of nature, disconnected from the fast-moving world and in the company of family and friends. He went skateboarding in the snow, fed big-horned cows and simply had fun in the snow-covered mountains. The Ferrari driver penned a note stressing how desperately he needed a break after a draining year, which was his first season with Ferrari. He also shared his vision for the new year, which he feels is the right time to truly be himself.

Lewis Hamilton disconnects from the world to celebrate birthday in the snow

Taking to Instagram, Lewis Hamilton shared a bunch of pictures and videos along with a note reflecting on life. He wrote, “Another return. I’m incredibly grateful for this break. Time to disconnect, recharge and find a bit of inner peace. Time with family and friends, replenishing with rest and good laughs, has been everything I needed after a very draining year. In a world that moves so fast, where we’re constantly being pulled in so many directions, truly disconnecting has been the most amazing feeling.
Throwing light on the New Year 2026, he added, “I’m conscious that we’re entering the Year of the Horse and leaving behind the Year of the Snake. The time for change is now.
Starting new routines, leaving behind unwanted patterns and working on growth. Let go of things that don’t serve you. This can take time; there will be things you can’t get rid of immediately, but it starts with the first step. Even though the world can seem like a mess, I hope that you’re staying focused on living life to the fullest. Be you and never forget who you are. I learnt that from many of you who told me this in 2025, and I’ll never forget it again. Your support means the world to me, and I’m here for you too. You are never alone. Let’s take it one day at a time, one step at a time.”He also shared a picture from his cake-cutting ceremony during the birthday celebrations.

Lewis Hamilton’s tough maiden year at Ferrari

Lewis Hamilton moved from Mercedes to Ferrari last year but, despite giving his best, he couldn’t win a race or reach the podium. He did come close with fourth-place finishes at the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix, the British GP and a few other venues, but ultimately failed to finish on the podium. He eventually finished sixth in the Drivers’ Standings, one position behind his teammate Charles Leclerc. Also read: “It was a problem”: Sergio Perez opens up on being Max Verstappen’s Red Bull teammate
