The Formula 1 drivers are all set to race on one of Spain’s oldest and most iconic circuits. The race is scheduled to take place at the historic Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya on May 31 and June 1. The main race will be contested over 66 laps of the 4.657-kilometre circuit, with local favourites Carlos Sainz from Williams and Fernando Alonso from Aston Martin among those to watch. With Oscar Piastri leading the season with four wins, and Max Verstappen and Lando Norris securing two wins each, one of them could add another victory to their name.
Spanish Grand Prix schedule
The Formula 1 drivers will begin preparations with the first free practice session on May 30 at 1:30 pm local time (5 pm IST), followed by the second session at 5 pm (8:30 pm IST). On Saturday, May 31, the third free practice session will take place at 12:30 pm (4 pm IST), and the Qualifying session is set for 4 pm (7:30 pm IST). The main Spanish Grand Prix race will be held on Sunday, June 1, at 3 pm (6:30 pm IST).
In addition to the F1 races, the weekend will feature action from Formula 2 and Formula 3. The Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup will also be held at the same circuit ahead of the F1 race on June 1.

Last winners of Spanish Grand Prix
Red Bull’s Max Verstappen won last season’s Spanish Grand Prix, continuing his dominant run as the reigning F1 champion. He was followed by McLaren driver Lando Norris, who recently claimed victory at the Monaco Grand Prix. Lewis Hamilton finished third for Mercedes.
This year’s top order could look quite similar, with McLaren’s Oscar Piastri also in strong form. However, local heroes Carlos Sainz of Williams and Fernando Alonso of Aston Martin will be hoping for a big result at their home race. Alonso has previously won the Spanish Grand Prix twice—once in 2006 with Renault and again in 2013 with Ferrari.
