Max Verstappen spoils Kelly Piquet with romantic Valentine’s Day celebration in Florence
Max Verstappen and girlfriend Kelly Piquet were recently in Florence for Valentine’s Day and painted the town red with love. Piquet also took part in a friend’s birthday celebrations in the city and shared several glimpses from her time with Verstappen, including how she enjoyed making her own perfume and spending time with her friends. The Red Bull star will return to the track on day two of the second Bahrain testing this week.
She simply captioned the picture: “L’amore a Firenze,” which translates to “Love in Florence.” She tagged La Gemma Hotel as their place of stay in the city.
Verstappen showered the post with several red heart emojis.
Their fans also loved the post. “I love them aaaa,” wrote one fan. Others called them “adorable” and “cuties.” One fan even wrote, “Just propose to her already, Max.” Another joked, “Places Max would rather be than driving the 2026 car.” A comment also read: “Love the photo and seeing the love between you two, but I ABSOLUTELY LOVE Max’s new baggy jeans style!!!”
Taking to her Instagram Stories, Piquet shared several pictures of their luxurious hotel suite and praised the staff for their hospitality. Sharing a picture that featured a large bouquet of red roses placed on the bed, she wrote, “Spoiled @maxverstappen1.”
She also shared glimpses from her friend’s birthday celebrations, during which she made her own perfume as part of a fun activity.
The 2026 F1 season begins on March 8 with the Australian Grand Prix. Verstappen missed out on his fifth F1 World Championship to Lando Norris by just two points, but it remains to be seen what this season has in store for him.

Max Verstappen to skip first day of testing in Bahrain
Max Verstappen tested the new, shorter, narrower, and lighter F1 car during testing in Barcelona and later in Bahrain. According to a GPBlog report, the Red Bull star will not take part in testing on Day 1 of the second Bahrain test scheduled from February 18–20.
