Max Verstappen has firmly cemented his dominance at the Suzuka Circuit, as he claimed his fourth consecutive victory at the Japanese Grand Prix on Sunday. The 27-year-old Red Bull driver has become the undisputed king of Suzuka in recent years, joining the ranks of legendary drivers such as Michael Schumacher, Lewis Hamilton and Sebastian Vettel who have all won the race multiple times. With this win, Verstappen has equaled Sebastian Vettel's record of four Suzuka victories.

Biggest winners of the Japanese Grand Prix

The 2025 edition of the Japanese Grand Prix marked its 50th anniversary, a milestone in the race's storied history. Despite McLaren winning the first two races of the season, Max Verstappen snatched the third race victory from the team despite struggling with his Red Bull's balancing issues. Michael Schumacher holds the record for the most Suzuka wins, having triumphed in 1995, 1997, and won five consecutive times from 2000 to 2002, plus a final win in 2004.Sebastian Vettel, another former Red Bull champion, also secured four wins at Suzuka, clinching victories in 2009, 2010, 2012, and 2013.Lewis Hamilton, who was victorious in 2007 while racing for McLaren, added to his impressive tally with four more wins after joining Mercedes, in 2014, 2015, 2017, and 2018, bringing his total to five Suzuka wins. Now racing for Ferrari, the 40-year-old is still chasing his first victory with his new team.
He finished in seventh place in the 2025 Japanese Grand Prix, while his Ferrari teammate Charles Leclerc finished in fourth.While Suzuka is now the permanent home of the Japanese Grand Prix, it was once held at Fuji for several years. The Suzuka Circuit is uniquely shaped like the number 8, making it one of the most iconic tracks in Formula 1.
