George Russell and girlfriend Carmen Montero Mundt spent the Christmas break amid the snow-covered mountains. Their romantic pictures, clicked in an aesthetic fashion, made fans wonder if the Mercedes driver was set to propose to his ladylove. Mundt, an educator, has now shared a January recap post, and some fans were quick to spot a ring on Russell’s finger. It appears the two may have gotten engaged in the Alps around the New Year. However, the couple are yet to confirm the news.

Carmen Montero Mundt’s January dump with George Russell fuels engagement speculation

George Russell's girlfriend Carmen Montero Mundt shared a bunch of pictures and videos on Instagram and wrote, “January bits and bobs.” One picture shows a pair of hands, likely Russell’s, with a ring on the ring finger as he cuts bread using a fork and knife.

Pointing to the picture of the ring, one fan asked, “Is that George with a ring?” Another commented, “Yes, and he has never worn a ring before. So it tells sth important.” One more added, “I saw that immediately too.”


The rest of the pictures and a video show Mundt enjoying the countryside, having a meal, and relishing flowers and the company of horses. There is also a mirror selfie of Mundt posing with Russell after a workout.

Carlos Sainz’s model girlfriend, Rebecca Donaldson, called her a “Country girlie” in the comments section. One fan said about Mundt and Russell, “They look pretty.” Another wrote, “You’re glowing, Carmen, so pretty,” while one more called her their “favorite WAG.”

George Russell gears up for the 2026 F1 season

Carmen Montero Mundt is an educator and is currently busy with her work. Russell will soon return to the track for the 2026 season. He, along with teammate Kimi Antonelli, will attend the unveiling of the Mercedes 2026 F1 livery on January 22.

Last season, he finished fourth in the Formula One World Championship with 319 points. He had an impressive campaign, scoring nine podiums in total, including two wins. He won the Canadian Grand Prix and later claimed victory at the Singapore Grand Prix.

Amid delays and widespread speculation, Mercedes finally renewed his contract for the 2026 season. Before that, there were rumors that team principal Toto Wolff was considering Max Verstappen if the latter was in the mood to switch teams. However, it later emerged that Wolff and Verstappen had instead united over their shared interest in endurance racing.
