How to watch Formula 1 in India: FanCode extends F1 broadcast deal until 2028
FanCode has extended its broadcast partnership with Formula 1 for three more years until 2028. The digital sports platform will also offer F1 TV Pro and F1 TV Premium subscriptions, along with complete coverage of all race weekends. This renewal comes as F1's popularity surges in India, with 79 million fans and a 41% growth since 2022, per Nielsen.
The expanded deal makes FanCode the exclusive F1 broadcaster in India, Bangladesh, Nepal, and Sri Lanka. The platform has introduced regional commentary in Tamil and Hindi, plus a new motorsports podcast called Gearbox.
The sport has seen remarkable growth in India, especially among young and female viewers. The recent F1-themed Brad Pitt movie was a massive hit in the country.
The 2026 season, starting March 5 in Melbourne, brings exciting changes. Cadillac joins as a new team, making it 22 cars on the grid. Audi will take over the Sauber team. New rules include lighter cars, green fuels, and active aerodynamics. Indian-heritage driver Arvid Lindbladt will race for Racing Bulls.
FanCode co-founder Yannick Colaco expressed excitement about the deal: "We are delighted to renew our partnership with Formula 1 for three more years. This expanded deal firmly establishes FanCode as the home of all things F1 in India, and we're excited to keep serving one of the country's most passionate and fastest-growing sports communities."
Ian Holmes, F1's Chief Media Rights and Broadcasting Officer, added: "We are delighted to be beginning our next chapter with FanCode after a successful start to our partnership in 2024. FanCode has elevated our broadcast for our passionate Indian audience to ensure they are able to feel the adrenaline and excitement of a race weekend from the comfort of their homes."
