Formula E Season 12 is back with the year 2026’s first race and the season’s Round 2 in Mexico City. Considered one of the most favourite Formula E races, the Mexico City E-Prix is not just special for delivering title-worthy race winners, but this year it will also mark the 150th race of the Formula E World Championship. Last year’s winner, Oliver Rowland, went on to win the title, just like the two previous Mexico City winners. Therefore, the race also holds special significance for almost predicting the season’s title winner. Here is everything you need to know about the upcoming race.
Mexico City E-Prix schedule
The year’s first E-Prix begins in Mexico City with the first free practice session, FP1, on Friday, January 9. It will take place at 4 pm local time (3:30 AM IST) and will wrap up in around 55 minutes. Preview
Since the Mexico City E-Prix is known for producing a winner who often goes on to win the title, fans are waiting with bated breath to see who will lift the winner’s trophy at the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez circuit. Jake Dennis won the season’s first race in Sao Paulo and is in good form to continue his winning momentum.
Title winner Oliver Rowland is also in form after finishing second in Sao Paulo and will be aiming to repeat his success in Mexico after winning here last year. Among other favourites is Pascal Wehrlein, who won the Season 10 race as well as the title that year. However, one cannot rule out a new driver etching his name on the podium this year.
