Mexico City E-Prix 2026: Preview, schedule, race timings and where to watch Formula E Season 12 Round 2
Formula E Season 12 is back with the year 2026’s first race and the season’s Round 2 in Mexico City. Considered one of the most favourite Formula E races, the Mexico City E-Prix is not just special for delivering title-worthy race winners, but this year it will also mark the 150th race of the Formula E World Championship. Last year’s winner, Oliver Rowland, went on to win the title, just like the two previous Mexico City winners. Therefore, the race also holds special significance for almost predicting the season’s title winner. Here is everything you need to know about the upcoming race.
The real action will begin an hour later, as the Qualifying session is scheduled for 9:40 am local time (9:10 PM IST) on Saturday, January 10. The drivers will then get a few hours of rest before returning to the track for the Mexico City E-Prix final at 2:05 pm local time (1:35 AM IST).

On Saturday, January 10, the day will be slightly warmer, with the morning temperature during FP2 and Qualifying expected to be around 19 degrees Celsius. It is expected to rise to 23 degrees Celsius in the afternoon for the final race, which begins at 2:05 pm local time. Conditions will remain partly cloudy, but rain is not on the cards on race day.
Title winner Oliver Rowland is also in form after finishing second in Sao Paulo and will be aiming to repeat his success in Mexico after winning here last year. Among other favourites is Pascal Wehrlein, who won the Season 10 race as well as the title that year. However, one cannot rule out a new driver etching his name on the podium this year.

Mexico City E-Prix schedule
The year’s first E-Prix begins in Mexico City with the first free practice session, FP1, on Friday, January 9. It will take place at 4 pm local time (3:30 AM IST) and will wrap up in around 55 minutes. The drivers will get another chance to familiarise themselves with the track during the second free practice session, FP2, on the morning of Saturday, January 10. It will begin as early as 7:30 am local time (7:00 PM IST).The real action will begin an hour later, as the Qualifying session is scheduled for 9:40 am local time (9:10 PM IST) on Saturday, January 10.
