Andretti’s Nerea Marti proud to see more girls entering motorsport: “Now I see many girls starting out in karting”

Andretti team ambassador Nerea Marti is excited for Round 6 in Madrid, which serves as her home race, where she will represent Andretti in her ambassadorial role. As a Spanish speaker, she finds it easier to connect with fans at the Madrid E-Prix. She also works as a simulator driver, contributing behind the scenes, and has spoken about how her presence can inspire more women to pursue motorsports.

Nerea Marti previously drove for Andretti in the 2024 and 2025 preseason Women’s Tests in Madrid and Valencia before taking on the role of team ambassador.

Speaking about her responsibilities, she told FormulaE.com, “I'm connecting with the fans and doing a lot of interviews and social media activities to give more visibility and more opportunities, especially in Mexico, Miami, and Madrid. I can speak Spanish with them, so it's easier to connect with people. I love going to Madrid, and Formula E being there is great. I would love to drive there, but in my new role it's still great to be there with the team at my home race, and I will be supporting the team a lot.”

In addition to her ambassador duties, Marti also works as a simulator driver when she is not engaging with fans at race weekends.
Talking about that aspect of her job, she said, “The simulator is not easy. But it's nice because you can learn all the tracks, all the procedures, and all the reference points, so it helps a lot, especially for the drivers when preparing for race weekends, to be ready and do the work before coming to the track. It's really important to arrive prepared.”

Nerea Marti believes there has been significant progress in female participation in racing. “Now it has changed a lot because everyone is pushing to have more girls in motorsport. Thanks to W Series, F1 Academy, and now also Formula E, which are working to give women more opportunities and more visibility, we are moving up the ladder,” she said.

Sharing her personal experiences, she added, “Now, when I go to karting, which is the grassroots level of motorsport, I see many girls starting out, and I'm really proud of this because I think we’ve opened those doors. I'm excited about it. They see that we are racing and competing in important championships already, so I think some girls say, ‘I want to be there too.’”

Marti will next be seen interacting with fans at the upcoming Madrid E-Prix, scheduled for March 20-21.
