Vadodara vs Ahmedabad affair in final

St Xavier's College rode on twin strikes by Akshay and Vinay in the 18th and 21st minute of the game to beat SCET Surat quite convincingly and make it to the semifinal of the JG Cup All-Gujarat Inter College Football tournament.
In another stage eight match, Physics Department MS University Vadodara beat CKPCET Surat 3-0 with an authoritative display.Austin scored twice in 65th and 72nd minute after Vikas opened the account in the 64th minute. Parul Institute Baroda rode on a Raj Prasad strike in the 64th minute to edge past HLCC Ahmedabad 1-0 and make it to the semifinal.
In the most fiercely fought encounter of the day RJTC Ahmedabad beat Navyug Commerce College Surat 5-4 in the sudden death after the match ended 0-0 in regulation time and 3-3 after the penalty shoot-out.
For RJTC, Jayendra Grum, Naren Trivedi and Vikramaditya Chhaya scored during the penalty and Dagla Jinesh and Kshitij Jain scored during the sudden death.
For Surat, Manzoor Qureshi, Gadawala and Jaimin Sailor scored during the penalty and Shoaib Shaikh scored during the sudden death. Pathan Shahid was the man who missed his shot during the sudden death handing RJTC a thrilling win. Five players were cautioned during the match and one player of the Surat team was given marching orders.
