NEW DELHI: He has been there in the domestic circuit for almost a decade now. Yet, Raman Vijayan hasn't lost his striking prowess. And on Monday the lanky striker once again became the saviour for Tamil Nadu, scoring his team's only goal to earn a victory against Uttaranchal in a Cluster VIII match of Santosh Trophy.
Raman fired home in the 56th minute to earn full points for Tamil Nadu, who now have six points from two outings.

In another match of the same cluster, Jharkhand also notched up their second win with a facile 5-1 victory over Tripura. CM Soren (5th min), Lal Mohan Hansda (18), Sakla Mardi (37), Dharmender Deogram (51) and Lal Mohan Hansda (88) scored for the winners. Utpal Chowdhary scored the only goal for Tripura in the 60th minute.
In a Cluster VI match Gujarat and Nagaland played out a goalless draw.
On Tuesday, Delhi take on Railways in a crucial Cluster VII encounter at Faridabad while Jammu & Kashmir are in for a showdown with Orissa. At Gurgaon, 2002 winners, Manipur will be up against Chhattisgarh in a Cluster V match.
