The much-awaited state elections for the disputed

Rajasthan State Football Association

(

RSFA

) are scheduled to take place before August 15, the high court has said in its verdict.

The RSFA, owing to warring factions and power wrestling among all its district associations, was de-recognised by the

All India Football Federation

(

AIFF

) back in 2007.

Since then, several attempts have been taken to reinstall the fractious body but efforts have gone astray due to some objection on the other from either the 28 district bodies or non-compliance with the Rajasthan Sports Act.

The two parties in the fray are Liyakat Ali, president Sawai Madhopur District FA and Dilip Singh Narooka, general secretary of the now defunct ad-hoc body. Singh is also the president of the Udaipur District FA.

Barring Jaipur which is still to come clean on its recently held elections which was boycotted by several clubs for breach of the Sports Act, all other associations have resolved their disputes.

Previously Hanumangarh, Ganganagar, Udaipur and Jaipur were among the ones who had people overstaying their tenure of four years; while Kota, Bhilwara, Rajsamand, Baran, Dungarpur, Chittor and few others were not in accordance with sections 8 (1) (kha) of the Sports Act. TOI is in possession of the Justice VS Dave's report dated May 20, 2014.

"The disputes have been resolved now. We are yet to get a clearance on Jaipur District Football Association," Ali told TOI on Saturday.

"We are confident of a three-fourth majority to their (Duleep Singh's) one-fourth. Let's hope for the best," he added.
