Qidwai Sporting beat Big Ben Club in Super Division football final

NAGPUR: Nine-man Qidwai Sporting edged out Big Ben Club 4-3 via sudden death to clinch the NDFA Super Division Football League title at the Police Line Takli ground on Wednesday.
The score was nil at the end of regulation period. Qidwai played the later part of the second half with just nine men. In the 65th minute, Aziz Khan of Qidwai and Big Ben's Shabaz Noor were given marching orders for dangerous play.Qidwai got another jolt when Maqsood Ansari was shown red card in the 79th minute.
In the tie-breaker too, the deadlock was not broken as the score was 3-3. For Qidwai, Zabeel Khan, Shoeb Khan and Azmat Khan converted their spot kicks. Shameen, Naeem Akhter and Ankit Kanojia levelled the scores for Big Ben.
After 3-3 in the sudden death, Qidwai had the last laugh, much to the disappointment of Big Ben supporters.
Sheikh Imran, Atteque Rehman, Shahnawaz Ansari and Tausif Khan got success in the sudden death. For Big Ben, Ajinkya Tiwari, Gaurav Yadav and Stephen Machado made no mistake.
Stephen Machado of Big Ben was adjudged player of the tournament. The champions Qidwai received Rs 21,000, while the runners-up Big Ben got Rs 15,000. Senior Division League winner Taj Club got Rs 15,000, while runners-up Nagpur City pocketed Rs 10,000.
