NEW DELHI: Brazilian forward Neymar recently underwent surgery for a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) and meniscus in his left knee, sustained during his time on international duty. The injury occurred during Brazil's World Cup qualifier match against Uruguay, where the 31-year-old was forced to exit the field. Subsequent MRI scans confirmed the severity of the injuries.

Neymar received treatment at a hospital in Belo Horizonte, with Brazil's national team medical staff overseeing his surgery. According to local media reports, the football star is expected to be discharged on Saturday, marking the beginning of an extensive recovery period. This rehabilitation is anticipated to last until mid-2024.

In a reassuring post on social media, Neymar shared a photo of himself with his two children, accompanied by the caption: "Everything will be fine." The message reflects the player's optimism and determination to overcome this setback.

Neymar made a high-profile move to the Saudi Pro League in August, in a transfer deal reportedly worth 90 million euros (equivalent to $96 million). However, the former Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain player was limited to just five games due to recurring muscle injuries, which hampered his performance and playing time.

The news of Neymar's knee injury and subsequent surgery has garnered significant attention among football fans and the sports community. His fans and well-wishers are hoping for a swift and successful recovery, enabling the star to return to the field stronger and more determined than ever.
