Manolo Marquez future uncertain

PANAJI: Manolo Marquez will take charge of the national team for the 2027 AFC Asian Cup qualifier against Hong Kong in June but questions are being raised about the head coach’s future with the national team.

Manolo took over the national team in a rare club-andcountry role last year. “Manolo has found it challenging to fully settle into the international role,” a source told TOI on Monday.

“There are too many disruptions, from last-minute changes in plans to difficulty of building continuity with players who return to club duty. There are issues off-thefield too. “All this has made the international job feel more fragmented than fulfilling.”
