LUDHIANA: JCT Mills overwhelmed Mohammedan Sporting 2-0 in the ongoing 10th edition of the National Football League match played at Guru Nanak stadium here on Thursday.
JCT not only avenged their defeat which they suffered against the Kolkata outfit earlier in the league but also garnered three points to surge ahead of their rivals after the 14th round encounter.

The win took JCT' tally to 17 points while the vistors remained at 14 points.
JCT players dominated the proceedings throughout the match with making repeated forays into the rival's territory.
However the much need goal came in the second session. In the 48th minute, Daljit Singh's throw-in was well taken by P Rennedy Singh who despatched the ball into the net, much to the chagrin of Mohammedan Sporting goal keeper, Arindam Ghosh.
Bouyed by this success, JCT went all out to increase the lead. However, they found Arindam Ghosh a hard nut to crack.
Nevertheless, JCT's forwards managed to pierce through the Sporting defence in the 64th minute.

Sunil Chhetri gave a parellel pass to Parveen Kumar who scored a fine goal to read it 2-0.
They could have cemented the lead further but poor finishing and aimless kicking at crucial moments made all the difference.
Mohammedan Sporting players pressed hard to reduce the margin but failed to cut the ice. Their star strikers Gley Yao Rodrigue and Mohd Mukhtar were well tackled by the JCT players.
JCT will take on Sporting D of Goa here on May 2.
