India beat Kenya to win the football Intercontinental Cup.
Captain Sunil Chhetri scored a brace to put himself on par with Lionel Messi and lead the home side the title triumph with a 2-0 win over Kenya in the summit clash. Playing in his 102nd international match, Chhetri struck in the eighth and 29th minutes to hand a dominant India the trophy. Read more

US President Donald Trump called Canadian PM Justin Trudeau “dishonest and weak” after the conclusion of a G7 meeting.
The US President also refused to sign a joint communique with the G7 member countries, over the contentious issue of trade tariffs on which he feels the US has been stiffed. He then targeted India and said that tariffs were not restricted to advanced economies alone. Read more

Terror groups Lashkar-e-Toiba, Jaish-e-Mohammad and Hizbul Mujahideen are working together to target India.
A captured Jaish terrorist revealed in interrogation that Jaish is running a terror training camp in in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, close to those of Lashkar-e-Taiba and Hizbul Mujahideen, buttressing the assessment that the three anti-India terror groups work in close coordination, under the watchful eye of the Pakistan military and ISI, in planning attacks on Indian civilian and security targets. Nirav Modi has fled to the UK and asked for political asylum, reported Financial Times.
Modi is in London claiming "political persecution" according to the newspaper. The ministry of external affairs also told the newspaper that the government was waiting for law enforcement agencies to approach them before pushing for his extradition. Read more

The Samajwadi Party is willing to play second fiddle to the BSP in the 2019 Lok Sabha election.
Party chief Akhilesh Yadav said his party is willing to make a compromise and contest fewer seats if it would help ensure the BJP&rsquo;s rout in the general elections next year.
