Football: Biswajit replaces Das as Bagan coach

Biswajit Bhattacharya is the new Mohun Bagan coach. The formerIndia skipper, who showed lot of promise during his stint with MohammedanSporting early this season, replaces Jahar Das who will go back to the MohunBagan SAIL Academy in Durgapur.Bhattacharya takes charge fromTuesday and his contract runs up to the end of the National FootballLeague.Bhattacharya has a tough job at his hands though. He will betaking charge of a bunch of under-performing players who have been at thereceiving end in the NFL. For the record, Bagan are languishing at the bottom ofthe table."I know its a tough job. But I am sure the boys will pullup their socks and we can beat the drop," Bhattacharya said on Sunday. Baganofficials said that a void was created at the academy ever since Das was pulledout to replace Amal Dutta as Bagan coach in December last year.
